Major Gift & Individual Giving Coaching
Asking an individual for a gift (especially a five- or six-figure one) can feel intimidating. Without formal fundraising training, you might not know where to start or even believe it’s possible for your organization.
But here’s the truth: Major gift fundraising is a skill you can learn. With the right coaching and support, you can build the confidence to make transformational asks.
I’ll be honest: I have a master’s degree in fundraising, and no one ever taught me how to actually ask for money. The first time I sat down with a potential major donor, I had no idea how to move the relationship forward, how to set appropriate boundaries so we weren’t just becoming friends, or how to say the words “Will you consider a gift of $10,000 to support this project?” without wanting to cry.
After 15 years as a full-time fundraiser, I learned a lot of tips, tricks, and mindset shifts needed to secure big gifts – without feeling awkward or transactional. Now, I pass those skills along to nonprofit leaders who want to develop the strategies and systems needed to secure major gifts.
This is for you if…
You’re an executive director or development staffer who needs to grow revenue but doesn’t know how to start.
You believe in the power of relationship-based fundraising but struggle to find the time for face-to-face donor work.
You’ve attended fundraising trainings in the past but haven’t been able to put the ideas into action.
You want accountability, expert support, and someone to walk you through donor conversations step by step.
What Coaching Looks Like
This individualized coaching program is designed to give you the knowledge, structure, and confidence to secure major gifts—while also helping you build the fundraising infrastructure needed to sustain long-term success.
Personalized Fundraising Strategy – We’ll start with a deep dive into your donor base, your fundraising goals, and uncover the best ways to engage supporters for your organization.
Hands-On Coaching & Support – We’ll meet bi-weekly to help you work through roadblocks and feel prepared for donor conversations.
Practical Tools – I’ll help you create a compelling case for support, prioritize donors, and develop step-by-step plans for making major gift asks.
As an added bonus for my clients, it’s not just you who has access to training and support! All of my clients are invited to monthly group trainings that they can share with their board and committee members to help everyone in the organization build their skills and play a more active role in fundraising.
